Set in the year 2154, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth, a man takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds. In the year 2154 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes, a government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn't stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

A fresh and satisfying futuristic thriller Elysium is a very unique movie. It is full of spectacle and sick humor, robust violence, harsh language, and can even be politically fueled at times. Blomkamp has succeeded in crafting a beautiful visual experience. In the film the young director perfectly captures the feeling of being on earth and in poverty and harsh times. You feel for the people on earth. The amazing Elysium itself is drop dead gorgeous and stunning. On that topic the CGI is absolutely extraordinary. Whatever you think of the movie itself you cannot deny how great the visuals are. The droids and ships are literally perfect. Elysium is very tense, action packed, and emotionally fueled. There are some very iconic scenes that will forever be remembered. Kruger steals the show. You have no idea how good he is until you see this. He's amazing in a very strange way. Damon, fitchner, and foster are all amazing and serve up excellent performances. Overall this movie is so entertaining and will most likely be misunderstood by some viewers who want a more cheerful and kid friendly movie. This is a very adult themed movie and packs in a lot of violence. It's utterly satisfying and i would be shocked if its not a classic in a couple of years
